Where to find us

Central Baptist Church is about a 3 minute walk from Chelmsford station, and a similar distance from the bus station.

On Sundays, there's no parking available in the car park outside church (though contact us if that's going to make getting to us difficult for you, we'll help you get to us). Scroll down to get suggestions for where to park on Sundays.

Parking on Sundays

The church doesn't have its own car park but being a city-centre church, there are a number of public car parks within a few minutes' walk.

If you are visiting and are unsure about where to park on a Sunday morning, please feel free to pull up at the front of the building where our Welcome Team will be on hand to assist you with directions.

There are two car parks that we recommend:

  1. Council Car Park opposite Trinity Methodist Church in Duke Street: This car park is immediately right after turning into Duke Street off Parkway. It looks like an exit but there is only one way in or out and the barrier will be up. It is before the County Hotel’s car park. This car park is free and there is plenty of room on a Sunday. Allow 5 minutes to walk to church.

  2. Fairfield Road Car Park: This is the one for the Civic Theatre that you can access via Coval Lane. They charge £1.50 for all day after 10am. However you can put the money in before that time and the machine will give you a ticket for the whole day (so you could use it for both services!). Allow 3 minutes to walk to church.

Other car parks are available too:

Coval Lane car park is just 5 minutes' walk from the church and has an all day charge on Saturday and Sunday of £2. It is in Coval Lane, and can only be driven into via Parkway and Rainsford Road.

There is another car park opposite Trinity Methodist Church in Rainsford Road, which is free on Saturdays and Sundays and every evening after 6.00pm.

Also, the British Rail car park seems to be available without charge on Sundays.
